worth it

J. Sheppard F. Lavery S. Muise 2017

It’s 3am, I’m wide awake…. waiting for, a call from babe,

to say he’s reached his destination…

I’ll mow the lawn when I get home…is what he says on the phone

In a late night conversation…

I’m not sure… just…what… he does..

but it don’t matter now because…

I’m busy at home, raising babies on my own

Turning the wheels, givin’ the feels..somehow

I need you to stay, but you just have to go away

That’s how it goes, everyone knows by now

But we know our home…is worth it.

We’ll go out when I get home, is what he says on the phone….

and I’m trying to be patient…

But I’m so tired I cannot speak, and that’s not great for him and me

and our now distant relations…

I’m not sure just…where… he goes…

But it don’t matter, I suppose…

I’m busy at home, raising babies on my own

Turning the wheels, givin’ the feels..somehow

I need you to stay, but you just have to go away

That’s how it goes, everyone knows by now

But we know our home…is worth it.

Here on the other side of Canada

I wait for him to come and set me free.

Money, time and patience - we need more of…

Someday, you’ll see….someday you’ll see…

I’m busy at home, raising babies on my own

Turning the wheels, givin’ the feels..somehow

I need you to stay, but you just have to go away

That’s how it goes, everyone knows by now

But we know our home…

yes we know our kids…

And baby we know our love..is worth it.

That’s how it goes…

Everyone knows by now…
